Life Story for Ethel Edwards

Ethel Edwards
Ethel Bernice Edwards passed away at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Sunday, November 19, 2017 in her 96th year.

Ethel will be fondly remembered by her sister, Edna Lyon, and her brother, Roy Heighes, both of Palmerston, and her sister-in-law Terry Heighes of Los Angeles, California. Also remembered by her nieces, Janice Heighes (Andy Gallacher) and Heather Heighes (Ivan Bondarenko), and her nephew Mark (Mary Lou) Heighes.

She was predeceased by her brothers Cecil Heighes, Elvin Heighes, and Harold Heighes, and her sister-in-law Edna Heighes.

Born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Ethel attended Harriston High School. She lived in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and settled in Anchorage, Alaska, working in retail sales, for 20 years, before retiring to Harriston 32 years ago. She worked at Capital Records in Los Angeles in the 1960's, during the time that Capital was releasing the very first U.S. Beatles album. She enjoyed travelling, especially to the British Isles.

Ethel's family would like to extend their appreciation to all of the staff at both Caressant Care in Harriston, and Royal Terrace in Palmerston for their outstanding care of Ethel.

A graveside service will be held at Harriston Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations to CNIB would be appreciated and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
