Obituary for Edward Hale

Edward  Hale
Edward William Hale ~ peacefully with family at his side, at Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in his 98th year.

Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife Eileen (Malone) Hale.

He is survived and much loved by his children Carolyn Heffernan of Guelph, Patricia Heffernan and her husband Reid, and Elizabeth Boyce and her husband Tim, all of London, and Larry Hale and his wife Fran of Harriston.

Eddie loved and was immensely proud of his grandchildren Greg and Meaghan Heffernan, Andrea Heffernan and Christopher Oster, Christian Heffernan and Kelsi Mayne, Jeremy and Kim Heffernan, Sara Boyce and Mike Campbell, Matt and Dawn Boyce and their family, Ben Boyce, Jennifer Hale-Adam and Kyle Adam, Laura and Ken Mazurek, and Julie Hale and Ed Kozak.

Great-grandpa always had a smile for his great-grandchildren Isabelle Heffernan, Christian Heffernan, Madison Heffernan, Abbyghale Adam, Jasper Heffernan, Bennett Adam, and Logan Edward Mazurek.

Brother of Tom and Cecile Hale of Baden, and brother-in-law of Jean Hale of Guelph, and Ken Malone of Ottawa.

Ed will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and the many great friends he made over his lifetime.

Ed was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Leonard Hale and wife Anna, Gerald Hale and wife Mary, Louie Hale, James Hale, Helen Dadswell and husband Charlie, Mary Lord and husband Rene, and Rita Tangney and husband Joe;by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gladys and Peter O'Dwyer, and Marcia and Pat Morris; and by his nieces Jane Tangney and Susan Weber, and nephew John Hale.

Our dad was a lifetime farmer and community supporter.. He will be missing the spring planting this year but we are sure he will be watching over the farm he loved, and will be reunited with our much loved and missed mother.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church, Mount Forest on Wednesday, May 9th at 11:30 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Forest.

Ed's family is grateful to Royal Terrace, Palmerston, for the loving care they provided while he resided there.
