Life Story for R. Barrie Auger

R. Barrie  Auger
R. Barrie Auger ~ of R.R. 3, Clifford, passed away at Guelph General Hospital on Saturday, April 6, 2013, in his 86th year.

Barrie was the husband of Mary Auger (m. 1950), and father of Paul Auger (Denise) of Cameron, Mark Auger (Anne) of Belle River, Emily Auger of R.R. 3, Clifford, and Daniel Auger (Elizabeth) of Fort Wayne, Indianna.

Remembered by his grandchildren Elissa, Esther, Kendra, Kyle, Kelsey, Kimberly, Kristopher, Joshua, Rebecca, Sarah and Matthew.

Brother of Garth Auger (Mattie) of St.Catharines, Joan Parnell of Bradford, Phyllis Salem (Frank) of Hanover, and David Auger (Gerda) of Moorefield.

Predeceased by his son B. Timothy Auger in 1972, by his brothers Bert Auger (Martha) and Keith Auger (Joyce), and by his sisters Vera Craigen (Jim) and Gail Auger.

Barrie farmed Lot 24, Concession 18, on the Minto-Normanby Townline from 1955, winning awards for excellence in milk production. He was a long time member of Salem and then Knox United Church in Clifford, serving on the board for many years and singing in the choir. He was an active member of the Clifford Masonic lodge for over fifty years. Barrie enjoyed music, working with wood, and playing games with family and friends. A dedicated husband and a proud father, he wanted only the best for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He passed away peacefully with family at his side. Good-bye Dad, we love you.

Family and friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a Masonic Lodge memorial service being held on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be held from Knox United Church, Clifford on Sunday, April 14th at 2:30 p.m.

Interment in Clifford Cemetery.
