Life Story for Grace Ferguson

Grace  Ferguson
Grace Anne Ferguson, age 58, of Harriston passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Born in Stratford on June 20, 1958, Grace was the beloved wife for 35 years to Kevin Ferguson whom she married on November 15, 1980. Loving mom to Andrew and Samantha, Nicholas, and Curtis, and dear grandmother to Luke.

She is survived by her sister Dianne Walkom, and her children Elizabeth and Shawn Jezard, and Becky and Ross Aldworth, and by her step-father Stan Player.

Lovingly remembered by the Ferguson family Lynda and Dale Watson and their family Kim and Rob McKenzie, and Katie and Andrew Stewart, Barb and Larry Stortz, Bev Fettes, Bill and Linda Ferguson and their family Todd and Shelley Ferguson, Mandy and Devin Neilly, Tiffany and Joe Pikula, and Tyler and Kristy Ferguson, Blaine and Deby Ferguson and their family Kyle and Amanda Ferguson, and Faye and Joe Meulensteen and their family Chris Meulensteen, and Stephanie and Jeremiah Allen.

She was predeceased by father K. John Switzer and wife Irene, by her mother Laurine Player, by Kevin's parents Mel and Esther Ferguson, and by her brothers-in-law Brian Walkom, Larry Ferguson, and Jim Brownrigg.

Grace graduated from Centralia College in 1978 in Food Service Management working at Midwestern Regional Centre from 1978 to 1986. She settled into life as a full-time mom devoting her time to family. As the family grew, Grace spent many hours tending to vegetable gardens, flowers, baseball, soccer, swimming lessons, hockey and church activities including Sunday school teacher and youth leader.

She was always making sure her family was organized and where they had to be. Her love of preserving and canning filled the fruit cellar shelves ready for winter.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Harriston United Church on Sunday, August 28th at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Jessica Cottrell officiating.

Interment in Harriston Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Mark Preece Family House, Hamilton, Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, or Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest would be appreciated.
