Life Story for Hilliard Litt

Hilliard Daniel Litt of Hanover and formerly of Harriston and Owen Sound – passed away at McVean Lodge, Hanover on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in his 95th year.

Hilliard was the husband of the late Audrey Litt and father of Katherine Elmhurst and her husband John of Hanover, Peter Litt and his wife Beppie of Sarnia, Randy Litt of Harriston, Shirley Anne Litt of Harriston, Murray Litt and his wife Barbara of Hanover, and Ronald Litt of Durham.

Remembered by his grandchildren Christopher and Erin Elmhurst, Patrick and Tanya Elmhurst, Jennifer and Aaron Miller, Jessica Litt, Nicholas Litt, Nathan Litt, Rebecca Litt and Ted Dietz, Darryl Litt and Sanja, Devin Litt and Emily, and Tanner Litt; and by his great-grandchildren Trenton Elmhurst, Bennett Elmhurst, Carson Elmhurst, Ryan Miller, Sarah Miller and Joyce Dietz..

He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Harold Litt, Beatrice Binkley, Aaron Litt, Arthur Litt, Fred Litt, Herman Litt, Hilda Wahl, Milton Litt, Melinda Wilson, and Pauline Logie.

During World War II, Hilliard served in the RCAF with the Bomber Command 428 ‘Ghost Squadron’ as a LAC ( Leading Air Craftsman). After the war, he farmed for several years before moving to Owen Sound where he worked at PPG Glass until his retirement.

A private family funeral will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Saturday, October 1st.

Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
