Life Story for Dorothy Domm

Dorothy  Domm
With family by her side, Dorothy Elizabeth Domm passed away in the early morning of Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Palmerston and District Hospital in her 87th year.

Born Dorothy Oestreicher to Rev. John and Elizabeth in Rosenthal, Ontario, she was the sister of the late Ruth (and husband Sheldon) Wolfe and the late Rev. John (and wife Marilyn) Oestreicher.

She grew up in her beloved Ottawa Valley, where she began her 10 year teaching career. When her family relocated to Clifford, she met and married her soul mate, Leonard Domm in 1954. Together they made a home in Alsfeldt, and raised their family there for 30 years until his passing in 1984. She retired to Clifford, at Jamesway Manor where she enjoyed a very active social life with her many friends.

She will be remembered as a loving mother by Brian Domm and his wife Paula of Hanover, Lynne Varsamis and her husband Tasso of Durham, and cherished by her grandchildren, Jessica Domm, and Brittany and Tyson Lacey. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

Friends may call at Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Alsfeldt United Church, Normanby Township on Sunday, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m., followed by refreshments and fellowship.
