Life Story for Shirley MacKenzie

Shirley  MacKenzie
Shirley (Grice) MacKenzie passed away at Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Monday, April 10, 2017 in her 92nd year.

Shirley was the wife of the late Grant MacKenzie, and dear mother of Mark MacKenzie and his partner Candace Owens of R.R. 3, Clifford, Kim MacKenzie and his wife Cheryl of Mount Forest, and Mary Ellen McCoag and her husband Neil of Port Rowan.

Remembered by her grandchildren Rob and Lizzy MacKenzie of West Grey, Shayne and Stacey MacKenzie of Drayton, Lisa and Paul McGarroch of Innisfil, Leigh and Kaitlyn MacKenzie of Stoney Creek, Erin and Mike Buzsik of Waterford, Drew and Jessica McCoag of Fergus, Meghan and Mackay Trickett of Port Rowan, and Luke McCoag and Kansas Pickrell of Lindsay; and by her great-grandchildren Emma, Ava, Kayleigh, Ashten, Madison, Camryn, Harlen, Dayton, Calum, Cooper, Abigail, and Fergus.

Sister of Velma McCombe and her husband Jim of Kitchener, and sister-in-law of Alice Grice of Walkerton.

She was predeceased by her son Wayne MacKenzie, her great-greatgranddaughter Maisie, and by her brothers Larry Grice, Glen Grice, and Bill Grice and wife Violet.

Shirley was a.life long resident of Minto and Harriston and was active in her Church and Community Groups. She felt honoured to be presented by Council with the local volunteerism award. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and social events, as well as having a passion for family history and genealogy. Goodbye to a special person who will be remembered by many.

Friends may call at Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston on Thursday, April 13 for visitation from 12:00 Noon until the time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
