Obituary for Andy Gawel
Andrey ‘Andy’ Walter Gawel of Minto passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 4, 2022 in his 74th year.
Father of Steve and Kathy Gawel of Listowel, and Vanessa and Lenny Walker of Chapel Hill, NC, and step-father of Adam Linesman.
Grandfather of Broderick, Curtis, Anya, Colin and Alena.
Brother of Zenon and Linda Gawel of Kitchener, George Gawel of Palmerston, Barb McLaughlin of Wiarton, and Henry Gawel and Gayle Blackwell of Palmerston.
Brother-in-law of Agnes Gawel of Cambridge, and Jane Gawel of Kitchener.
Remembered by his friend Isabel Nadeau, his nieces and nephews, and by those who knew him as 'Grandpa’.
Andy was predeceased by his brothers Richard Gawel (2013) and John Gawel (2016), by his infant daughter Emma (1994), and by his parents Walter and Mary (Szymczak) Gawel.
A Celebration of Andy’s life will be held at Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Wednesday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., and reception will follow at the Harriston Legion.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
