Life Story for Arlen Seip

Arlen  Seip
Arlen William Seip of Clifford - passed away at Wingham & District Hospital on Friday, November 16, 2018 in his 82nd year.

Arlen was the husband of the late Ella Seip and dear father of Randy and Nancy Seip of R.R.1, Clifford, Joanne and Peter Douglas of Walkerton, Daryl and Cynthia Seip of Port Elmsley, and Darlene and Rick Hill of R.R. 3, Clifford.

Remembered by his grandchildren Jonathan and Suzie Seip of Kitchener, Elizabeth and Justin Howatt of Elmwood, Christopher Douglas and Shawna Rivest of Harriston, Anthony and Marie Douglas of Milverton, Jill and Martin Sadowski of Ennismore, Benedict Douglas and Steph Klages of Williamsford, Adam Seip and Ryley Seip, both of Port Elmsley, Natasha Clarke-Sanche and Dave Baker of Owen Sound, Nicholas and Sarah Hill of Palmerston, and Danielle and Kyle Clemmer of Seaforth;

and by his great-grandchildren Simon, Abigail, Mackenzie, Brooke, Natalie, Reid, James, Paige, Sadie, Jack, Maryam, Yusef, Rachel, Reid, Ella, Magdalyn, Hannah and Bridgette.

Brother of Bruce and Joyce Seip of Waterloo, Marlene Sparry of Fergus, and Pat McTavish of Elmira, and brother-in-law of Inge Schmidt of Waterloo, Geraldine Koehler of Wellesley, and Norman and Barbara Koehler of Wellesley.

Predeceased by his great-granddaughter Lila Douglas, his parents Nelson and Helen (Frey) Seip, by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Earl Schmidt, Karl and Margaret Koehler, Ed and Hilda Dunn, Henry Koehler, Russell McTavish, Bob Sparry and Doran Thornton, and by his nephew Earl Thornton.

Born in Howick Twp in 1937 to Nelson and Helen ( Frey), Arlen moved to Kitchener at the age of 16 to explore his opportunities in the working world. He married Ella Koehler and together welcomed four children; Randall, Joanne, Daryl and Darlene. In his trade as a steamfitter and plumber, he enjoyed a successful 25 year career with Nelco Plumbing. In 1976, the family moved back to Howick Township and Arlen went into business as Arlen W. Seip Plumbing & Heating for another 30 years.
Arlen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on his country property and cutting wood. He was an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed working with his many tractors.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clifford on Tuesday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Howick Township.
