Obituary for Gerald Sterritt
Gerald Robert Sterritt passed away at Strathcona LTC, Mount Forest on Sunday, December
12, 2021 in his 76th year.
Son of Melinda (Rody) Sterritt of Harriston and the late Robert Sterritt. Brother of Donna
and David Dean of Strathroy, Dorothy and Henry Fudger of Palmerston, Jane and Gary
Williamson, and Kenneth Sterritt, all of Harriston.
Remembered by his nieces and nephews, Denise and Adrian Walsh, Dennis and Barb Dean,
Cheryl Martens and Ernesto Vivares, Suzanne and Ronen Kleiman, Nancy Fudger, Jeanette
Williamson and David Wichman, and Michael and Krystal Williamson, and by his great-
nieces and great-nephews Olivia, Victoria, Landon, Griffin, Nate, Ayel, Alex, Evie, Jake,
MacKenzie, and Kylie.
Gerald graduated from University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in 1969. He
worked in dairy plants in Guelph and Georgetown before retiring in Guelph. He enjoyed
time spent helping his two uncles on the farm in Hanover, with haying, driving the tractor,
and getting wood for winter. He liked baseball, bowling, and Sunday morning hockey at the
Guelph arena. Gerald enjoyed playing games with his nieces and nephews, especially when
he was winning. He loved seeing his nieces and nephews and their children.
The family would like to thank the staff at Strathcona Long Term Care for the kindness
shown to Gerald during his stay.
Private family services have been entrusted to the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, with spring interment in Harriston Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada
would be appreciated.
