Jean Catherine (Dennison) Speare ~ of Harriston, at Caressant Care, Harriston, on Monday, November 11, 2019, in her 90th year.
Beloved wife of the late Richard ‘Dick’ Speare.
Mother of Carrie Fayez of Harriston, and grandmother of Mark Mugford, Caleigh Mugford, and Jordan, Sarah, Emily, and Laura Fayez.
Sister of Ruth Lucas of Aurora, and Bill and Adele Dennison of Kitchener, and sister-in-law of Betty Dennison of Minto Township.
Predeceased by her daughter Cathy Speare, sister Hazel Dennison, brother Elmer Dennison, and brother-in-law Arnold Lucas.
Jean was born in Minto Township in 1930. She started her career as a teacher in a one room school house, and finished her career as a second grade teacher. She was a Sunday school teacher and was one if the first female Elders at her church. She enjoyed painting, playing bridge, square dancing & travelling.
Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston on Thursday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Wayne Lucas and Rev. Kathy Morden officiating.
Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
