Obituary for Jerry Sutton

It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald ‘Jerry’ Webster Sutton of Guelph announce his passing at Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in his 82nd year.

Husband of 55 years to Jewell ‘Julie’ Sutton.

Father of Kim Meyer and her husband Jerry of Ariss, and Kelly Sutton of Walkerton.

Grandfather of Adia Meyer, Ethan Meyer, Aidan Meyer, Josh Smit, Matt Smit, Clay Smit, and Marissa Smit.

Brother of Ruby Borin of London.

Predeceased by sisters June Briggs, Lorene Hannigan and Audrey King, and brother Ellsworth 'Butch' Sutton.

Jerry began his career in the family auto business of Sutton Steering and Collision with his father and brother. He then moved on to establishing Top Gun Auto Painting and Collision and ended his career with the business known as Sutton Auto Collision. The Sutton involvement in the auto body business would span over 70 years.

Jerry loved spending time at the cottage in Muskoka on Lake Rosseau, boating in his Shepherd mahogany boat and spending time with family including his dog Ben. He enjoyed the cottage at Sauble Beach and trips to Jamaica with the family.

A private family service will be held at Harriston Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Lung Association Canada or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada Society would be appreciated, and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
