The stories of our lives are written moment by moment – in how we’ve loved, in the day to day things we’ve shared, and in many ways we’ve touched each others hearts. During the many visits with Marilyn she did her best to communicate what she was trying to share with us, she was patient with us.
Whether it was Pete and I, or Jeanne and I, she wore her heart on her sleeve when we entered her room showing much excitement, and later asking us to come again soon.
This picture I have shared is one of Marilyn on a day at Jeanne’s house, she is teaching us how to make this specific angel. He loved angels – she is with them now.
Until recently she found it hard to say ALL that she hoped or wanted to. I have found this poem to share. Imagine Marilyn is telling us all this:
But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand
And said my place was ready, in heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity, and all I've promised you." Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last, and since each day is the same way, there's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart.
With sympathy, Joyce and Pete Scheeringa and families
