Obituary for Martin Pronk

After a long illness, Martin Cornelius Pronk passed away comfortably at his home in Mount Forest on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in his 83rd year.

Martin will be deeply missed by his wife Corrie, and sons Marte (and Joanne), Stef (and Carly), Art (and Lindsay), John (and Maureen), and Mike. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Andrew (and Brittney), Tyler (and Leah), Nic (and Emma), Devon, Livie, Ted, Anika, Oskar, Izzy, and Ian, and great-grandchildren Macklin and Daxton. Brother of Nic Pronk of Holland, and remembered by his nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by sisters Annie VanDerKroon Pronk, and Nel Kia Pronk, and brother Bert Pronk.

Martin loved drawing pencil sketches and singing, and was a past member of the Schneider Mens’ Choir. He also loved Bio-Dynamic Farming and was proud to be part of the grassroots Organic movement in Ontario. Martin lived and shared a passion for issues of social justice and faith, and a gratitude for His mercy and compassion.

Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Monday, March 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church, Mount Forest, on Tuesday, March 23rd from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors must schedule a time to attend on the funeral home website (below), or by calling 519-338-2441. Everyone attending must wear a mask.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Church, Mount Forest, on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be live-streamed.
