I remember with fondness my visit to the farm in about 1989 with my late wife Karen and young son Christopher and my late parents Jim and (Mary's oldest sister) Vera, who were visiting with us during our time in Waterloo. Mary and Barry were such grounded, salt-of-the-earth people we fell in love with them immediately. I remember when Mary brought out two steaming hot pies -- one blueberry and one strawberry -- she asked Jim which he'd like? Dad, ever with his awkward attempts at youthful humour (unlike I, who am quite talented in this regard!) said with a twinkle in his eye "One of each please". Mary fixed him with that eye reserved for the insolent child and said slowly "Which ... ONE ... Jim?" Scorched. The world is less with the passing of these two wonderful human beings. Distance did not allow but I would have liked many more visits back then, to get to know them better, and the broader Auger clan too. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve.

I wanted to express how much your parents meant to me. When your Dad was still alive, we would go out to the farm and have lovely visits with them. We used to have a Drama and Talent night, each year at the church, that your parents performed in. Your Mom would play the piano while your Dad played the harmonica. They truly made beautiful music together. You are all proof of that! They were both wonderful people and the one thing that gives me comfort, is to know they are reunited in Heaven. Please accept our sincere condolences. Much love to you all, Heather Giles and family

Sincere sympathy to Emily, Paul, Mark and Dan.
Your mom was a dear friend and much-loved sister-in-law. We always felt welcome with her, your dad, all of you, the grandkids and the other relatives and friends who gathered so often in your home.
Mary (and Barrie) will always hold a special place in our memories.

Our heartfelt sympathies to Emily and the Auger Family. Mary was a kind and wonderful lady! Her strength and zest for life was admired. I had the great pleasure of taking care of her lawn maintenance for a few years. She always greeted us with a smile. I enjoyed our many conversations. My crew and I adored her. She will be truly missed. Although we cannot be there to show our respects in person during this complicated time, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Michele Bennett & Shelby Bennett
