Willa Wick
The Tilden and the Crispin families have always been close friends. I remember long ago how the two couples would be "stepping out" for the evening. Those get-togethers would be heightened in the years you lived next door.
For years on dad's birthday (Feb 28th) your dad and uncle Stan would come to visit and have a little birthday nip. I didn't realize they had made a tradition of coming every year until mom passed away and I was living with dad. Frankie came along with the guys the first couple of years. And then we lost Grant......but Stan still came. And then we lost Stan. I still fondly remember those visits every birthday year.
I also think it's wonderful that the red hair is being carried on in the next generations (I'm jealous - I always wanted red hair, and when I couldn't have it I hoped my girls would - but I guess you can't make red out of black!!
Sympathies with you all as you proceed through the coming year of "firsts" (First Christmas without mom; first Easter; first warm spring day; first thunderstorm etc etc)but altho' sad, they always evoke good memories.
Condolences from the entire Tilden family.
