Lyman, school days

Years ago when we lived north of Bolton, Ontario. Lyman, George, Wayne & I (Dianne) attended a one room school. Grades 1to 9. Lyman liked to play practical jokes. He brought sneezing & itching powder to school and sprinkled the older boys with it. Even the teacher, Mrs. Brookes ended up with some on her. This was a big joke to the rest of us kids. I remember the scrambling around and the teacher dousing the kids with a bucket of water. Lyman was expelled. Same school & teacher. Lyman had ex-lax’s. He broke them up into individual squares so they would look more like chocolate candy. Put them in a brown bag and offered them to kids he didn’t like. Well you can imagine. We only had one bathroom!!!! Lyman was expelled. The third time Lyman was expelled he involved me in his scheme. There was an orchard across from the school. The owner was very protective of his apples. Lyman wanted the apples. He had a plan. He boosted me over the fence to pick the apples and pass them through the fence to him. Thinking because I was a little girl (6 years old) I wouldn’t get into trouble. The owner caught me. Lyman defended me. Lyman was expelled. Miss you big brother, Love Dianne
